How do I Schedule a Tour?

• Give us a Call at (304) 558-2317 and request to speak to an Event Coordinator. Staff is available for tours Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm.
   

How Much Does it Cost to Have an Event at the WV State Capitol?

• Having an event at the WV State Capitol is free.
   

What time does the Capitol Open?

• The Capitol is open the following hours:
  • Monday through Friday 7:45am to 5:30pm
  • Saturday 10:00am to 5:30pm
  • Sunday and Holidays 12:00pm to 5:30pm
     

How do I get chairs for my event?

• If you are planning a government event, chairs can be requested on page 4 of the event contract. If your event is private (unrelated to or unaffiliated with the State of WV governing body), you would need to rent chairs from a local vendor and have them delivered to the East Dock for unloading by completing the last page of the event contract. 
   

Are there any restrictions for my event?

• You can find all the details in your contract, but here are a few that get asked about most often:
  • No receptions are permitted.
  • Nothing should be taped to the marble. This includes taping down cords with ANY kind of tape and taping signs to the columns or walls.
  • No helium balloons, loose flower petals, alcohol, firearms, fireworks, or candles/open flames.
  • You cannot sell products on the Capitol grounds unless you are a 501(c) non-profit organization in good standing with the WV Secretary of State's office who has been pre-approved to sell on the grounds.
